2020 NFL Draft: Thanksgiving Day first-round 2020 NFL mock draft
31. New England Patriots: Carlos Basham Jr., DE, Wake Forest
The New England Patriots are yet again in line for another potential Super Bowl run in 2019 but this season, a lot of the credit can be given to a defense that has been dominant in every sense of the word all year long.
Well, they are about to get even scarier, as I have the Patriots drafting one of the most intimidating players in the entire 2020 NFL Draft class, Carlos Basham Jr. Not only is he an absolute mammoth of a defensive end, but even his name sounds like someone you don’t want to meet in a dark alley.
Basham has the frame to play in the 5 and 4-technique of the Patriots 3-4 system and would provide them with an elite-level athlete that they don’t really have on their defensive line at the moment.
The 6-foot-5, 275 pounder has been incredibly productive in 2019, racking up 10 sacks and forcing 3 fumbles on the year. These numbers paired with his stature make for an intriguing prospect and a guy I think the Patriots should snag with the 31st pick of the 2020 NFL Draft.
