2020 NFL Draft: Thanksgiving Day first-round 2020 NFL mock draft
25. Miami Dolphins: Jedrick Wills Jr., OT, Alabama
After taking Tua Tagovailoa with their first pick of the 2020 NFL Draft, the Dolphins will need to prioritize protecting him in his rookie season.
Miami currently has an offensive line that is responsible for allowing more sacks than any other team in 2019 (46), so it will be quite the task getting a quality product on the field. They do have a lot of cap space to entice the free-agent market but they should begin the process by taking a familiar face for Tua, Jedrick Wills Jr.
Wills has started the last two seasons for the Crimson Tide as Tua’s blindside protection at right tackle and has all of the size and ability to start right away at the next level. His strength and tenacity are evident in every game and it is rare to see him get moved backward.
He’s an elite run-blocker already but also has enough technique as a pass protector to make up for a lack of foot speed, but he will need to improve that area going forward.
Jedrick Wills is a great get here, as he fills a huge need and knows how Tua plays, making for a seamless move to begin the overhaul of a struggling offensive line in 2020.
