2020 NFL Draft: Thanksgiving Day first-round 2020 NFL mock draft
24. Minnesota Vikings: Neville Gallimore, DT, Oklahoma
The Minnesota Vikings have been playing some great football in 2019 and have one of the most complete rosters in all of the NFL today. In fact, the only glaring area where the Vikings could use an upgrade is on the interior of their defensive line.
So with the 24th overall pick of the 2020 NFL Draft, I have Minnesota taking Neville Gallimore out of Oklahoma.
Linval Joseph is the only interior pass-rushing presence the team has at the moment and he is now playing into his 30’s, so adding a hungry, young player like Gallimore would take some pressure off of the veteran.
Gallimore is so fun to watch, as his blend of strength and speed just jumps out on the screen every week. He can beat lineman with various hand techniques and has shown off an impressive spin move in his pass-rushing arsenal as well.
In his career with the Sooners, Gallimore has 7.5 sacks and 16 tackles for a loss and while those aren’t elite numbers by any means, he has shown that he has what it takes to get after the quarterback at the next level.
This is a great fit and fills a need for the Vikings late in the first round.
