2020 NFL Draft: Thanksgiving Day first-round 2020 NFL mock draft
18. Indianapolis Colts: Henry Ruggs III, WR, Alabama
The Indianapolis Colts are 28th in passing and are dead last in the NFL in 40+ yard pass plays with just 1 through 11 games this season. Jacoby Brissett has had some lackluster outings of late and while he does need to play better, his receivers haven’t made enough plays.
They have had their fair share of injury issues at the position, but it is still evident that Indianapolis lacks explosiveness and could stand to add more talent to the position in the 2020 NFL Draft.
Insert Alabama’s Henry Ruggs III.
Ruggs may very well be the fastest player in all of college football and seems to be a threat to score every single time the ball is in his hands. While Jerry Jeudy and Devonta Smith have gotten most of the attention for the Crimson Tide, Ruggs has made his touches count, as he averages over 21 yards per touch this season. In fact, he’s scored on 24 of his 91 career touches at Alabama, essentially scoring every fourth time his number is called.
His splash play ability is undeniable and adding him to the mix of T.Y. Hilton and Parris Campbell could finally allow some of those big-play opportunities to open up for Brissett.
