13. Philadelphia Eagles: Grant Delpit, S, LSU

Certain players just have the look and feel of a certain franchise and Grant Delpit to the Eagles is one of those instances. Delpit just screams Philly to me and it just so happens they need a safety, so the stars align perfectly on this selection as the Eagles take Delpit with the 13th pick of the 2020 NFL Draft.

Delpit is a prototypical safety in today’s game and looks as though he was designed in a lab to play the position. He’s 6-foot-3 and over 200 pounds but can move with the best of them in center field. He is quick to diagnose plays and is always around the ball because of that fact.

In three seasons at LSU, Delpit has filled the stat sheet with over 180 tackles, 7 interceptions and has 5 sacks to his credit.

The Philadelphia Eagles’ starting safeties are Rodney McLeod and Malcolm Jenkins. McLeod’s contract is up after the 2019 season and Jenkins skipped OTA’s this season because he wanted a new deal but never received one. With two question marks at the position going forward, Delpit would give the Eagles a bright young star to bring into the mix.
