Cincinnati Bengals 7-round 2020 NFL mock draft: Chase Young goes No. 1
Since the Bengals passed on a quarterback with the first overall pick of this mock draft, we have to dig a bit deeper for them to address the position in the second round. With the first pick of the second round, the Cincinnati Bengals select Washington quarterback Jacob Eason.
Eason is not the most polished quarterback in this draft class, but he has the raw arm talent to be a star at the next level. He is an athletic signal-caller who moves in the pocket well and can pick up yards with his legs if needed. Eason throws a pretty deep ball and has the arm strength to hit any throw on the field.
The Washington signal-caller particularly shines when he is forced to fire the ball into tight spaces with velocity. Eason will rock and fire the ball with velocity and pin-point accuracy when needed. He also does a great job of maintaining his arm strength and accuracy when throwing on the run.
In this scenario, the Bengals draft Eason and give him every opportunity to make the starting quarterback job his. Head coach Zac Taylor may have some work to do with his new young quarterback, but Eason has the overall talent and ability to be a legitimate franchise quarterback for Cincinnati going forward. Snagging both Young and Eason in the first two rounds is a potentially massive haul for the Bengals.
