2020 NFL Draft: Justin Herbert goes No. 1 in first-round NFL mock draft
By John Newman
With their second pick in this round, the Miami Dolphins opt to select a cornerback to replace the void left in the secondary by trading Minkah Fitzpatrick.
With Kristian Fulton falling to the sixteenth spot in this mock draft, the Dolphins find themselves in an excellent position to buttress their cornerback position and acquire an elite college talent.
Fulton will have plenty of time this year to show off his talents for the country, as LSU is expected to play in the college national playoffs this year. With Burrow scoring as much as he has in 2019, expect the LSU defense to see plenty of playing time on the national stage.
Having sat out in 2017 will affect his draft stock, as it means he will have less film to digest by scouts and general managers. But what they will see is an elite college cornerback, with the skills and technique to make it at the next level.
Fulton is impressive so far this year in the LSU secondary. Fulton plays with an incredible amount of poise and calm. He is rarely beaten on double moves, and has the speed to keep up with NFL receivers. He has allowed very few first downs this year. He leads his team with forced incompletions, according to Saturday Down South.
Fulton might not have the gaudiest numbers in the 2020 NFL draft. But it’s not a knock on a player if quarterbacks refuse to throw it your way. And with the National College Playoffs still to come, expect plenty of moments for Fulton to shine on the national stage.
