Wide Receiver. Oklahoma. 12. 52. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Ceedee Lamb. player

Jacksonville uses the first of two first-round picks in the 2020 NFL draft one of the most talented wide receivers in college football, CeeDee Lamb. The Oklahoma receiver has racked up 13 touchdowns this year, and 31 touchdowns in 3 years with the Sooners. With 983 yards on 44 receptions, with 22.3 yards average per catch and catches as long as 71 yards, according to ESPN. The young receiver is the ultimate deep-ball weapon for Jacksonville.

Watching his film, you see a player with elite speed, an ability to make defenders miss and the hands to bring in 50-50 throws. For the last three years, Lamb has been scorching defensive secondaries across the college game

Even with the rise of D.J. Chark this year for Jacksonville, it never hurts to have more deep throw weapons on the offense. I imagine Coughlin and Marrone are watching Foles tape from the 2017 postseason and praying for that form of Foles to return. All those deep throws in tight windows to receivers at the height of their professional skills. Having two receivers that average over 15 yards per catch is a convenient problem to have in Jacksonville.

With two picks in the first round of the 2020 NFL draft, this team can afford to wait a bit on finding their Jalen Ramsey replacement. The team has invested a four-year, $88 million dollar contract on Foles.

Now, it is time for them to provide him with receivers that complement his particular quarterback style. With the AFC South being as wide open as it’s ever been, having two elite deep threats for their former Super Bowl MVP to throw at is a good way of bringing the Jaguars back to playoff contention.
