Miami Dolphins 2020 mock draft: Does Tua injury change approach?
With four picks in the last two rounds, don’t be surprised if the Miami Dolphins package some of these to move up. But here they don’t, so let’s get to quick-hitters in these last two rounds.
Round 6, No. 163 Overall: Antoine Winfield Jr., S, Minnesota
The secondary still needs help on the back end, with Minkah Fitzpatrick traded to Pittsburgh. Antoine Winfield Jr. is quickly rising up boards as a safety prospect. His ball skills and ability to high point the football are two important traits to look for. Combine that with his physicality and willingness to play in the box and tackle, he’s a well-rounded player.

Round 6, No. 181 Overall: Josh Uche, EDGE, Michigan
In a hybrid defense, it’s important to have picks like Gross-Matos, who can play on the edge no matter what, and someone like Josh Uche, who can come in as a pass rusher in situations to create pressure. Uche has 13.5 sacks in the past two seasons and has one of the highest pressure rates in the country.
Round 7, No. 196 Overall: Michael Pittman, WR, USC
More weapons is important for Herbert and this new-look offense. Pittman is a rising senior, and at 6’4″ and 220 pounds, has the frame for the NFL. He has good hands and can create separation with his physicality and box out defenders with that frame.
Round 7, No. 215 Overall: Justin Herron, OT, Wake Forest
Adding a developmental tackle this late is a difficult thing to do, but the Miami Dolphins found a way with the selection of Justin Herron. Herron has good footwork and agility as a tackle who has a good initial punch at the point of attack.
