Dak Prescott can enter MVP conversation with strong game vs. Patriots
With a strong performance against the Patriots this week, Dak Prescott can enter the MVP conversation.
Right now, a majority of the MVP conversation is centered on Lamar Jackson and Russell Wilson. Both Jackson and Wilson have been fantastic this season, but Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott could quickly put himself in the conversation with a strong performance this week.
Prescott has completed 67.7 percent of his passes this season for 3,221 yards, 21 touchdowns and nine interceptions. He leads the NFL in passing yards and is tied for second in the league in passing touchdowns.
He has been one of the most dynamic playmakers in the NFL this season, consistently making plays for the Cowboys with his arm and his legs. Dak Prescott may not be as flashy as Wilson or Jackson, but there is an argument to be made that he has been just as good. Make no mistake about it, Prescott has been amazing this season.
The only reason Dak is not currently being talked about in the MVP conversation is the Cowboys being 6-4 on the season compared to Wilson and Jackson being 8-2. We continue to heavily account for team wins in the MVP conversation, but it is an odd way to help determine an individual award. However, everything will change and Prescott will be in the MVP conversation if he can lead the Cowboys to a victory over the New England Patriots this Sunday.
Not only would this be a massive statement win for the Cowboys, but Dak Prescott will also undoubtedly have shown out against the best defense in the NFL if Dallas leaves with a victory.
The Patriots lead the NFL in points allowed (10.8) and total yards allowed (249.9) per game this season. They have the best defense in the NFL and are lead by their incredible secondary. Prescott has been amazing this season, but he has not faced anything like this defense.
Can Dak take his game to the next level and take down the Pats on Sunday night? Regardless of what happens, it should be fun to find out.
