2020 NFL Draft: Dallas Cowboys mock draft with a safety on top
With Jason Witten coming out of retirement to play for the Cowboys in 2019 and his status for 2020 uncertain, the Cowboys will once again have a need at the tight end position, not only for the immediate but for the future.
One player who is just starting to generate some well-deserved top 100 hype is Adam Trautman, playing at FCS Dayton and making plays all over the field.
Trautman is a 6-foot-6, 255-pound former quarterback who has absolutely dominated his position at the FCS level to the tune of 173 catches, 2,238 yards, and 30 touchdowns in four seasons with the Flyers.
His size and ability to play in-line will undoubtedly attract NFL scouts, and he’s going to be a player in focus at the 2020 Senior Bowl in Mobile, AL, where the Cowboys and every NFL team will get the chance to evaluate him up close and personal.
This is a weak tight end class, but if the Cowboys could wait until the third round to take a player like this, whose physical skills translate immediately to the NFL level, they could have a steal on their hands.
