The Washington Redskins solve issues on both sides of the ball in this seven-round 2020 NFL mock draft.

At 1-9, the Washington Redskins are a team going nowhere. Interim coach Bill Callahan does not have a future with the team, the roster lacks impact players on both sides of the ball and rookie quarterback Dwayne Haskins has been less than impressive. To be fair to Haskins, his teammates in Washington are not doing him any favors. The offensive line has been an absolute mess, and besides fellow rookie Terry McLaurin, nobody is stepping up to make plays for him.

Unless Haskins is absolutely atrocious going forward, the Redskins will likely move forward with him at quarterback. However, they need to do a better job of building the roster around him. It starts with the right head coach, but nothing is more important for this franchise than nailing the 2020 NFL Draft.

In this post, we are going seven rounds deep with the Washington Redskins, showing a path to success for them in the 2020 NFL Draft. Here, they go on the clock with the second overall pick.

I know that the Washington Redskins desperately need an offensive tackle and should consider taking one if they can find a trade down partner. However, in this mock draft, they stand pat at number two where Ohio State edge rusher Chase Young is the obvious selection.

Young is the best player in the 2020 NFL draft class and a guy who the Redskins could build their defense around. He is one of the best natural pass rushers in recent college football history and has massive upside at the next level. The only way you can pass on a guy like Young is if you are taking a franchise quarterback. Washington is not going to replace Haskins yet, so with Young on the board, this is an easy pick.
