Tua Tagovailoa. 13. player. Pick Analysis. QB. Alabama. 58. Scouting Report

Just about every mock draft you read right now has Joe Burrow going to the Cincinnati Bengals and Tua Tagovailoa going to the Miami Dolphins.

The logic is simple — The Washington Redskins already have Dwayne Haskins in the building, and therefore will not be taking a quarterback with their top pick.

Right?

Well, Haskins hasn’t exactly lit it up for the Redskins in his rookie season, and Washington will probably come away from this offseason hoping to not be this close to the number one pick again for a long time.

What if the Redskins give Haskins the Josh Rosen treatment and trade him after just one year when a better option comes along in the next draft class?

It’s not impossible, especially as much as we’ve seen Washington favor the Alabama program.

Tua Tagovailoa is right up there with Joe Burrow as the best QB prospect in this draft class. He’s been phenomenal since we first saw him as a true freshman leading the Crimson Tide to a comeback in the National Championship game, and he’s played well even through injuries up to this point.

Although his injuries are a bit of a concern, Tua is so gifted as a passer, it’s hard to imagine he will last beyond the top 2-5 picks in the 2020 NFL Draft.

I can see a scenario where Washington decides to trade Dwayne Haskins away and take a better prospect like Tagovailoa.
