Colin Kaepernick: Three possible landing spots after Saturday’s workout
By Ian Higgins
Colin Kaepernick was a capable NFL quarterback. Colin Kaepernick had one of the strongest arms in the league. Colin Kaepernick had the ability to break a game open with his legs. Does he still possess any of the athletic traits that made him a top quarterback?
Having been away from the game and involved in other endeavors for such a significant amount of time, you can’t help but wonder if he still has the same traits that made him successful years prior. Kaepernick’s success was predicated on superior athleticism, and not so much his ability to read and feel the game.
Another factor to consider if Kaepernick is signed is the amount of media and press attention and presence inside and outside of the locker room. Kaepernick will be a major highlight for almost every sports and general media outlet, and the impact on the locker room can not be ignored. It is difficult to build chemistry when constantly being questioned and disrupted by reporters.
Whether Colin Kaepernick should or should not be signed will be a matter of performance on Saturday, and whether he has managed to keep in touch with his football side. If he is still in playing condition despite his period of absence and age, Kaepernick provides a new look under center for whichever team he joins.
