23. Alabama. Raekwon Davis. player. 60. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Defensive Tackle

Kirk Cousins seems to have gotten his act together, at least for the time being, so we will operate here as though the Vikings stick with him and aren’t searching for a quarterback in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft.

Minnesota has a well-rounded roster and could make some noise in the playoffs if Cousins continues to play well and Dalvin Cook stays healthy. In this draft, the Vikings can afford to look ahead and draft one of the best players on the board. Raekwon Davis is one of the most talented players in the draft and can help fill a hole down the line for a solid Minnesota defense.

Davis is another top prospect in the long line of Alabama interior defensive linemen. He has the size and power to dominate in the trenches but is also athletic enough to evade blocks and slither is way into the backfield.

While Davis hasn’t been as productive on the stat sheet the past couple seasons after an incredible 8.5 sack season in 2017, he is a force to be reckoned with in the SEC and should be at the next level. He uses his length and frame well and has the athleticism, talent and potential to be a top defensive tackle at the next level.

As good as the Vikings defense has been in recent years, they have struggled a bit this year against the run. Linval Joseph isn’t getting any younger and Davis would be an upgrade over Shamar Stephen right away. Davis could help stuff the run and would be a solid inside rusher between Danielle Hunter and Everson Griffen.
