LSU Tigers quarterback Joe Burrow is the hottest 2020 NFL Draft prospect and he’s shredding Alabama’s defense through the first half.

It’s only the end of the first half in Tuscaloosa, but LSU quarterback Joe Burrow — the hottest player in the entire 2020 NFL Draft class — is absolutely shredding the Alabama defense.

Nick Saban is displeased, but Cincinnati Bengals, Washington Redskins, and Miami Dolphins fans should be watching with great excitement.

Yes, I included the Redskins. You think Washington wouldn’t give Dwayne Haskins the Josh Rosen treatment with what we’ve seen from Burrow this year?

It might not matter, anyway. As a matter of fact, Burrow’s going first overall in my latest mock draft, which features 12 players from Alabama and LSU combined in the top 32 picks.

The Bengals currently lead the way for the top overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft and they could very well be bringing Joe Burrow back home to Ohio with the way he’s played so far in 2019. Burrow has been sensational all season, but his biggest test was obviously going to be this road show against Alabama, the third-ranked team in the country and always a tough, physical, fast defense.

He’s destroying them.

Joe Burrow first half stats vs. Alabama

  • 18-of-20 passing
  • 252 yards
  • 3 touchdowns
  • 31 rushing yards (leads team)
  • LSU leads 33-13

It’s absolutely incredible how Burrow is just picking apart this ‘Bama defense play, by play, by play.

He’s not just getting a bunch of help from his receivers, either. Burrow is dropping the ball into tight windows, using every velocity in his arsenal, anticipating coverage, and making tough throws while taking hits.

Burrow is a much better athlete than people seem to give him credit for. He isn’t a 4.4 guy, of course, but he’s definitely got the ability to maneuver around in the pocket and make plays with his legs.

He’s just showing everything in this game you want to see from a number one overall pick from making accurate throws to avoiding pressure, to picking up first downs with his legs and making great decisions with the football.

Burrow is cementing his status as a top five player in the 2020 NFL Draft in this game and proving he’s more than deserving of the number one overall pick.
