Denver Broncos 2020 mock draft: Dominating the trenches
Fourth round (two picks)
The Broncos could very well look to the cornerback position earlier in this draft, but the class isn’t deep overall.
There are some big names at the top of the group, but we’ll need to see more in the evaluation process to find out what guys like Damon Arnette and other players being grouped into the early day three range can bring to the table.
Arnette at least has a lot of good experience with the Buckeyes at the college level, especially playing off coverage and excelling in zone, which Fangio uses a lot.
Trey Sermon is a big-bodied back who can play all three downs and seems like he would excel in the West Coast offense being installed by Rich Scangarello.
Running back is not a pressing need for the Broncos, but if this mock draft is revealing of anything about the Broncos, it’s that this team may have more picks than they have needs on their roster, especially if they are able to bring back some key players on the roster.
Then you have unrestricted free agency to factor in as well.
The Broncos need to do whatever necessary to bring Drew Lock along swiftly and comfortably, and this is a mock draft that enhances the trenches on both sides of the ball while also adding some playmakers.
