Grant Delpit. player. 53. S. Pick Analysis. LSU. 8. Scouting Report

The Cleveland Browns would undoubtedly love to find an offensive tackle here. Left tackle, in particular, is a major position of need for the Browns and they simply must be able to protect Baker Mayfield better going forward. Unfortunately, there simply is not an offensive tackle prospect remaining who is worthy of being selected in this range of the 2020 NFL Draft. Instead, the Browns find themselves some help on the defensive side of the ball.

Grant Delpit is an extremely active and athletic safety prospect who always seems to be making a play on the ball. This guy is all over the field at all times, shining as an in-the-box safety in the LSU defense.

Delpit flies downhill and fills against the run extremely well. He ranges from sideline-to-sideline, making plays all over the field. His ability to tackle in space is also top-notch.

In coverage, Delpit shows an impressive overall skill-set. He has an impressive combination of size, quickness and athleticism that allows him to compete against nearly any player. Delpit can play man coverage against any running back, tight end and even most receivers. He also has the range and ball skills to be an impact player as a deep safety at the next level.

Delpit is an extremely talented safety prospect who undoubtedly has a chance to go early in the 2020 NFL Draft. He makes an impact on the game in a variety of ways and would undoubtedly be a big-time addition to the Browns’ defense.
