9. player. 48. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. QB. Oregon. Justin Herbert

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers cannot fool themselves into thinking Jameis Winston should be their franchise quarterback going forward. With all due respect to Winston, he is not the answer at quarterback for this team going forward and they must do what they can to find a capable replacement. Ideally, the Bucs would be able to find a new franchise quarterback in the 2020 NFL Draft.

With the ninth overall pick of this 2020 NFL draft scenario, Tampa Bay takes Oregon quarterback Justin Herbert to lead their franchise going forward. This would be an ideal pick for the Bucs.

Herbert is the most physically gifted quarterback in the 2020 NFL draft class, showing elite overall arm talent on the field. He can hit any throw on the football field with the flick of a wrist. This guy can not only hit the deep ball with consistency, but he will also fire the ball into tight spaces with velocity when needed. I would like to see Herbert use more touch on his passes when it is needed, but there is no doubting his raw arm talent.

On top of having the best arm in the 2020 NFL draft class, Herbert is also a smart quarterback who will not force the ball into poor situations. I would personally like to see Herbert get a bit more aggressive with his arm, but it is hard to beat up on a guy who is having success taking the safe option more often than not.

Herbert also shows a bit of mobility in the pocket and is accurate to all levels. Herbert is a bit of a raw player, but he has everything needed to be a successful franchise quarterback at the next level. The Bucs need to find a legitimate replacement for Winston this offseason. Adding Herbert would inject some much-needed life into this franchise.
