With five interceptions over the past three seasons, Lavert Hill has proven his ball skills are an asset going forward.

He plays on a stellar Michigan defense and is now in his third year of substantial playing time, another asset NFL teams are going to love.

At 5-foot-11, 168 pounds, Hill is not the biggest cornerback so he has to rely heavily on technique to win against bigger, more physical receivers, but there’s a place for him in today’s NFL and I think the Falcons could benefit from some more depth on the back end of their defense.

You can never have too many guys who specialize in taking the ball way in today’s NFL, right?

Some scouts have cooled on Hill a little bit after there was some talk he could be a top 50 player prior to the season, I think mainly because of how he will hold up size-wise at the next level, but scouts are going to turn on his tape against Iowa from this season and feel like he has upside to shut down his part of the field.

He has innate ball skills, and you can teach a lot of the rest of the stuff.
