Atlanta Falcons 2020 mock draft: Chase Young can resurrect ATL
Curtis Weaver is probably one of the best pass rushers at the collegiate level that you’ve yet to hear much about.
Although Boise State is not a nationally prominent team, Weaver is well-liked for NFL teams and his consistency off the edge has a lot to do with that.
The 6-foot-3, 255-pound junior has three straight seasons of top-flight production, including 40.5 tackles for loss, 30 sacks, and three forced fumbles (and counting).
The Falcons absolutely need to double-dip off the edge if they can in this draft class. There will be other position groups in focus that could push some nice edge talent like Weaver to the second round, and the Falcons would be wise to cash in on that.
We saw Atlanta trade into the back end of the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft to double up on offensive linemen, addressing an area of weakness head-on. Why not do it again in the 2020 NFL Draft with the best player in the class and a steady performer on the other side in Curtis Weaver with Grady Jarrett manning the middle?
