Atlanta Falcons 2020 mock draft: Chase Young can resurrect ATL
The Atlanta Falcons are in evaluation mode with an ugly 1-7 record heading into the second half of 2019. Can Chase Young resurrect the franchise?
It’s hard to believe the Atlanta Falcons are just a couple years removed from an NFC Championship victory and a near-win against the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl.
Sitting at 1-7 heading into the second half of the 2019 season, the Falcons are a team with far more questions than answers about their future at this point, including whether or not Dan Quinn is going to be their head coach going forward.
The Falcons have struggled with injuries over the past couple of seasons, but their defense is giving up the second-most points in the NFL per game this season (31.3 points per game) and the offense is unbalanced, to say the least (1st in pass attempts, 32nd in rush attempts).
Although the Falcons have big-time playmakers in the passing game with Julio Jones, Calvin Ridley, and Austin Hooper, this is a team that has acknowledged some change is needed and they have a nice arsenal of draft selections to get that job done.
The Falcons are also in the fortunate position of being one of the few teams picking in the top 10 of the 2020 NFL Draft to not need a quarterback.
If Atlanta can finish this season in the top 3 of the 2020 NFL Draft order, they have a legitimate shot at Ohio State defensive end Chase Young, the best player in the class.
Young would be an absolute Godsend for the Falcons. Let’s take a look at a (four round) Falcons mock draft scenario for 2020 involving the star defensive end from Ohio State, and how this roster could take shape around him.
