31. Scouting Report. player. 6. Pick Analysis. Cornerback. Ohio State. Jeffrey Okudah

Despite the addition of first-round pick from a year ago, DeAndre Baker, the Giants are still struggling to stop opposing passing attacks. Now with Janoris Jenkins‘ name swirling around in the NFL trade rumor mill, some more secondary help may be on the agenda for the Giants in the 2020 NFL Draft.

Cornerback duos are becoming quite the rage as of late in the NFL and the Giants would have a chance here to lock down a very talented young tandem for years to come. Baker and Ohio State Jeffrey Okudah would make it hard for any outside receiver to come down with a catch on any given play.

Okudah seems to be the obvious choice as the top corner in this 2020 NFL draft class. He is a player that has improved greatly from last year to this year, and has really taken over as the number one, shutdown corner for the Buckeyes after the previous corner, Denzel Ward, left as the fourth overall pick in 2018.

A fluid athlete, Okudah has the ability to quickly open and swing his hips to stay with any receiver. His footwork is outstanding off the line in man coverage, staying glued to his guy throughout the entirety of his route. His length and ball skills allow him to break up any pass that comes his way, and he has incredible make-up speed should he ever get beat.

He is currently best utilized in man coverage, but Okudah is improving his zone reads and excels dropping back as a bail corner in Cover-3. He is also willing and capable in run support, so he can impact the game on any given play.

The Giants need talent, so they go with the best player on the board, who just so happens to fill a need. Okudah and Baker have the makings to be the next Ramsey-Bouye type pairing and can rival Ward and Greedy Williams as the young corner duo with the most talent and potential.
