2020 NFL Draft: First-round mock draft includes Jalen Hurts in the top 15
Could the Patriots go quarterback here with all the rumors swirling about Tom Brady‘s potential departure after this season? I won’t stir that pot too much. Instead, the Patriots steal the best interior offensive lineman in the 2020 NFL Draft.
Tyler Biadasz is a bully in the middle. He has his way with defenders in the run game and is a very successful pass blocker as well. He packs a quick, powerful punch off the ball and won’t stop driving until he hears the whistle.
Biadasz is big, physical, has great hands, great footwork, is a great leader, and has a terrific football IQ. Due to the immense talent at skill positions in this raft and the team needs of those picking ahead of them, the Patriots get an outstanding player at the tail end of the first round who can play center, guard, or wherever they may need him.
The 49ers are off to an incredible start in 2019. They have a roster with few holes, and even the ones that you may suspect on paper are proving to not be so weak in practice. Regardless, to me, the general weak spot of the Niners appears to be their interior offensive line, so here they take a guy that can play any of the three positions.
Creed Humphrey has a wrestling background, and it shows when he is in the trenches battling and swinging defenders around. He packs a powerful initial punch and uses his stout frame and low center of gravity to drive through defenders.
He is an effective puller and is mobile enough to get to the spot to make an impact. While he doesn’t have the best length, he won’t need to if he is kept on the inside where his brute force will outweigh any concerns about his arms.
Weston Richburg is the current Niners center, and he has been doing a fine job and is under contract through 2022, as is right guard Mike Person. Laken Tomlinson has shown flashes of potential in his career but hadn’t been consistent prior to showing up in San Francisco. Humphrey has the potential to unseat any of these guys in the coming years and would be a solid fill-in if anybody on the line were to go down with an injury.
