Defensive End. Penn State. 23. 46. Pick Analysis. Yetur Gross-Matos. player. Scouting Report

I’d be shocked if Gross-Matos fell this far on draft day in the real 2020 NFL Draft, but the way things played out in this mock he is there for the Colts to steal at 23. Gross-Matos is a very raw prospect who is still developing his overall football IQ, but physically he has everything you look for in an edge rusher.

He has the prototypical tall-frame with good bend that you want in an end. He is an explosive athlete that can get around the corner in a flash. He has a great motor and won’t stop till he gets to the quarterback. He can stand to add a bit more muscle to his frame if he wants to be an every-down end, but he is an outstanding pass rusher right now.

The Colts have solid players at his position right now in Jabaal Sheard and Justin Houston, which would allow Gross-Matos to sit back and learn from those guys and fill in when needed. Those guys aren’t getting any younger and this kid could be one to build around for years to come on the defensive line if he continues to develop.

36. Scouting Report. Alabama. Xavier McKinney. 24. player. Pick Analysis. Defensive Back

The Tide keeps rollin’ here at 24 as the Seahawks select a versatile defensive back in Xavier McKinney. Much like Minkah Fitzpatrick, McKinney can do a little bit of everything on defense. He is listed at safety and can play deep, but can also come up and cover man-to-man or step into the box as a blitzer. He is really one of the most versatile players in the entire 2020 NFL Draft.

The Seahawks just traded for a safety in former Lion Quandre Diggs, but I’m sure they want to keep improving their secondary, and adding a Swiss Army knife player like McKinney would be great for Ken Norton Jr. and the Seattle D. McKinney can play free safety or nickel corner right away and come in and make an immediate impact for a defense that has now without any remnants of the Legion of Boom.
