Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Auburn. Derrick Brown. player. Defensive Tackle. 17. 32

The Cardinals would love to add some offensive line help to protect Kyler Murray and could go receiver here to give Murray another weapon with Larry Fitzgerald‘s career coming to a close, but the Cardinals snag the best player on the board here and get themselves the best interior defensive lineman in the 2020 NFL Draft.

Derrick Brown is an absolute tank who has the quickness and athleticism to go along with his size. Brown can get off the ball and turn speed to power quicker and better than nearly anyone in college football.

Brown always plays with a sense of urgency and packs a powerful punch when penetrating the line. He uses his length very well and is a matchup nightmare when one-on-one with nearly any offensive lineman.

The Cardinals roster needs help across the board, so taking a top 10 talent at 17 would be a great get for Arizona. Brown could play nose or 3-4 defensive end if necessary. He is a big body that can play the run on every down and can rush the passer from the interior when called upon as well. Brown between Chandler Jones and Terrell Suggs would give offenses headaches and would be a solid core to build around for Arizona on defense.

player. 28. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. South Carolina. Javon Kinlaw . 18 . Defensive Tackle

The Raiders make it back-to-back defensive tackles with the playmaking big man from South Carolina. Kinlaw isn’t quite as big as Brown but is a little more shifty in his pass rush. Kinlaw has the power to dominate the line as well and has been incredibly productive this season for the Gamecocks.

Kinlaw is long and uses his reach to his advantage when taking on blocks. He can shed blocks incredibly well, making him in the run game and in the pass rush. Like Brown, he has a high motor and plays with high-intensity play in and play out.

The Raiders got solid pieces in the last two drafts in Maurice Hurst, Clelin Ferrell, and Maxx Crosby, but they could really solidify their defensive line with one more hit in the 2020 NFL Draft. Kinlaw could come in and start right away at defensive tackle or could sit and learn behind Johnathan Hankins for a year and fill in when needed.
