Pick Analysis. LSU. 10. player. 59. Scouting Report. Cornerback. Kristian Fulton

After taking Joe Burrow at number two in the 2020 NFL Draft, the Dolphins, once again, would love to grab a buy to protect him, but the value just isn’t there at this pick. Instead, they address the other side of the ball and get a running mate for Xavien Howard.

Kristian Fulton has the potential to be the best man-to-man, lockdown corner in this draft. He starts off very physical at the line of scrimmage and has fluid hips to turn and stay with the receiver down the field. His change of direction, quick bursts of athleticism, and high-end speed allow him to shadow receivers for the duration of the route.

Fulton could stand to improve as a tackler, but the Dolphins can’t be greedy. Corners like Fulton and Howard on either end of the field will make it difficult for opposing wideouts to haul in passes. The defense has been very bad this year, and the departure of Minkah Fitzpatrick certainly didn’t help. Here, they use the pick they got for him to grab a sticky, cover corner to anchor the other end of the field.

Fulton has had some off-the-field issues that will need to be looked into, but if the character comes back clean, he certainly could end up a top 10 pick in a 2020 NFL draft class that has a ton of talent at corner.
