2020 NFL Draft prospect Joe Burrow answered the call again this week in a win over Auburn.

LSU quarterback Joe Burrow is the biggest riser in terms of 2020 NFL Draft stock, and he continues to answer questions that analysts bring up about his game.

He’s had a fantastic season so far for the Tigers, showing improvement in his ability to read defenses and be more patient for things to open up down the field. His accuracy 20-plus yards down the field has been the best of any quarterback prospect this season by far.

Still, questions arose for Burrow. The biggest question was whether he’d be able to handle top defenses in the SEC and be able to maneuver the pocket and make big-time throws in key spots. He looked excellent against Florida a few weeks back, dicing up their defense, especially in the intermediate part of the field. But, since the Gators were undermanned in the second half, the focus shifted off that performance to how he’d perform against Auburn and Alabama.

Well, we can check Auburn off the list as a test passed for Burrow.

Burrow completed 32-of-42 for 321 yards and a touchdown against Auburn. When you dissect his game past the box score, there was a lot to like. The Auburn defense was tough, and they got to Burrow three times on the afternoon. Burrow also threw a pick on a 50/50 ball down the field.

It’s how he responded, especially in the second half, that cemented Burrow as a top quarterback in this class right now. He came back with a couple of brilliant throws down the field to Ja’Marr Chase, further showing how accurate he is down the field, especially outside the numbers.

The poise to keep delivering under pressure was excellent against that nasty front. Burrow also tucked and ran on a couple of plays when the protection broke down early, one of which went for a touchdown and was the game-clincher.
