The Atlanta Falcons are a disappointing 1-6 and should look to move a few players before the upcoming NFL trade deadline. Here are the trades they should make.

The Atlanta Falcons are coming off a five-game losing streak, to fall to 1-6 for the season. There was a lot of hope to start the year off hot and that this team could compete for the division and possibly represent the NFC in the Super Bowl. Well, the season has taken a sharp detour and now the Falcons are in a position to sell at the upcoming NFL trade deadline.

The Falcons made one move earlier this week, shipping veteran wide receiver Mohamed Sanu to the Patriots for New England’s 2020 second-round selection. That wasn’t the only move the Falcons made since the start of the regular season either. Earlier this season, the Falcons traded for safety Jonathan Cyprien and 2020 seventh-round pick from the Philadelphia Eagles in exchange for linebacker Duke Riley and 2020 sixth-round draft pick.

The Falcons currently sit at approximately $5.8 million under the salary cap this year according to overthecap.com, so moving some players on the last year of their contracts would make sense. Three players that come to mind are Vic Beasley, De’Vondre Campbell and Austin Hooper all of whom may leave via free agency.

The Falcons may also look at moving others who have large-cap hits like Desmond Trufant, Alex Mack and Devonta Freeman, in order to stock up on draft, picks in the 2020 NFL draft. Either way, I expect the Atlanta Falcons to be active in the coming days and below we will breakdown the five trades that make the most sense for the organization moving forward.
