2020 NFL Draft: Best NFL fits for top QB prospects
Jordan’s top skills: Arm talent, athleticism, ‘wow’ throws
Jordan’s top weaknesses: Too much hero ball, decision-making, reading coverage consistently
Raiders OC: Jon Gruden/Greg Olson
Since Jon Gruden became the head coach of the Oakland Raiders, he’s yet to use a premium draft choice on the quarterback position.
As the Raiders transition to Las Vegas and really ‘host’ the 2020 NFL Draft, I think that’s all going to change.
Gruden is a firm believer in his ability to develop quarterbacks, and I don’t think he dislikes Derek Carr, but if the Raiders struggle to make the playoffs this season, I think Carr’s going to be on the hot seat and I think the Raiders will be looking to a deep quarterback class to find someone who fits what they want to do offensively.
Jordan Love has shown throughout his college career that he may have the highest ceiling physically and athletically of this quarterback class, but his floor could also be pretty low. He needs a good teacher and I think Gruden will love working with a guy like this, a player with every physical tool you look for and the arm talent to make jaw-dropping throws with regularity.
