Honorable Mentions

Cornerbacks

Patrick Peterson: Peterson just returned from suspension and gave the Cardinals an immediate lift. Peterson is one of the best corners in the league and would be a hot commodity if the Cardinals decided to move on and save over $7 million on his contract.

Desmond Trufant: Trufant has struggled lately, as has the entire Falcons secondary. Trufant would cost the Falcons a lot of money in dead cap if they moved him but could bring in some much-needed draft capital for a struggling Falcons team.

A.J. Bouye: The Jags already moved on from Jalen Ramsey, maybe the decide to get what they can for Bouye too? He may not bring back two first-rounders like Ramsey, and the Jags are still trying to compete in the AFC, but if they trade him, the Philadelphia Eagles could get a Pro Bowl corner from the Jags after all despite missing out on Ramsey, at a much cheaper price, presumably.

Xavien Howard: It seems as though the Dolphins want to hold onto their talented young corner despite their best efforts to not win this season. If they do change their mind, Howard would be an obvious target for the Philadelphia Eagles to help them out this season and beyond.

Janoris Jenkins: The Giants are another team looking to get younger. After drafting Deandre Baker in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft, New York may be winning to move on from Jenkins for some more draft capital.

Byron Jones: Jones is a free agent after this year and will likely be on the outside looking in when it comes to Dallas handing out contracts. While they will likely be hesitant to trade him to a division rival, they may want to get something for him before he can possibly leave for nothing in free agency.

Linebackers

Preston Brown: Brown was a staple at linebacker for Buffalo for years. With the Bengals, he hasn’t been quite as effective and hasn’t been utilized quite as much. After drafting Germaine Pratt in this year’s draft, Cinci may be willing to move Brown and the Eagles should be all over it.

Reggie Ragland: Ragland was just drafted in 2016 and had 86 tackles for the Chiefs a year ago. but they have clearly moved on and Ragland is at the tail end of the linebacker depth chart. He would be a young and talented option for the Eagles.

Genard Avery: Avery seemed to be a steal in last year’s draft after an impressive rookie season, but has not been utilized at all by Steve Wilks in the current Browns defense. While Avery may be best suited as a hybrid 3-4 outside linebacker, he has the skills to play anything from down lineman to safety, really. Jim Schwartz could find a role for such a talented player.

Craig Robertson: While his best days may be behind him, the 31-year-old Robinson should still have enough in the tank to help the Eagles. He saw has only played 21 snaps for the Saints this season, all but one this past week. Robertson has been an 80+ tackle guy four separate seasons and should be able to wrap up those tough NFC running backs.

Defensive Linemen

Vic Beasley: This may not be the best fit for Beasley, who would work best at 3-4 outside linebacker, but the Philadelphia Eagles will always take a talented pass rusher at a bargain. After leading the NFL in sacks in 2016, Beasley has failed to come anywhere close to that form since, and despite encouraging words from the coaching staff for the last couple of years, it appears that he has finally fallen out of graces and will be on the move.

Leonard Williams: Again, not the greatest fit here as Williams has always been a 3-4 defensive end, but again, Schwartz should find a way to make it work. Williams’ name has been swirled around in the rumor mill at the deadline the past couple of years. Is this the year he is finally moved for more draft capital for the struggling Jets?

Corey Liuget: Liuget was a first-rounder once upon a time, and was a staple on the Chargers defensive line for years. Now the 29-year-old is hardly being used by the Raiders. If the Eagles think he still has something in the tank they could get him for very little compensation.

Al Woods: Woods has been around for a long time but was rarely relied upon as a starter. He did, however, start all 16 games for the Colts in 2017 at age 30. At 32 now, he is clearly past his prime but he is a big body that can stop the run on first and second down and short-yardage situations. The Seahawks are using him a bit and he has started 5 games but I don’t think you’d have to twist their arm to let him go.

Wide Receivers

A.J. Green: Although there have been trade rumors all season, it’s looking more and more likely that the Bengals hold onto Green. But if he is available, Howie Roseman will undoubtedly be on the phone.

Robby Anderson: It’s been rumored that the Jets are looking to move on from Anderson, and while he is a similar type of deep receiver as DeSean Jackson, I’m sure the Philadelphia Eagles will at least give him a look and see what the price is.

Marqise Lee/Keelan Cole: With the emergence of D.J. Chark as a top receiver in the league this year, the Jags actually have a plethora of average to above-average receivers. Chark and Dede Westbrook have been the go-to guys this year, and Chris Conley has a rapport with Nick Foles should he come back, so at least one of these two guys may be the odd man out.

Lee had two impressive seasons with the Jags in 2016 and 2017 posted over 700 and three touchdowns in both seasons before injuries have plagued him the past couple of seasons. Lee also played with Nelson Agholor at USC so maybe there would be some good chemistry between the two that would elevate both of their games.

Cole found his success in 2017 with a 700+ yard and three TD season of his own. He has also been dealing with some recent injuries but is healthy now and more of the slot-type receiver that the Eagles could be after.

Allen Hurns: The emergence of Preston Williams and DeVante Parker for the Dolphins has left Allen Hurns on the back burner, as he has just 12 targets on the season. Hurns had a 1,000 yard and 10 touchdown season with the Jags in 2015 and is still just 27-years-old.
