After finding their franchise quarterback at number two overall, the Miami Dolphins take the guy in charge of protecting him at 10. Miami’s current offensive line situation is an absolute mess and will need attention in the 2020 NFL Draft. With this pick, they take arguably the best offensive lineman in the entire class, Tristan Wirfs out of Iowa.

Wirfs is an absolute freak on the offensive line, showing a tremendous combination of power and athleticism up front. He gets off of the ball quickly and has the foot speed to always get where he is trying to go. Wirfs is also extremely powerful at the point of attack and consistently steers defenders where he wants them in the run game.

He is a supreme run blocker who always seems to open a hole, but do not sleep on Wirfs’ ability in pass protection. He moves his feet well in pass pro and shows a strong, accurate punch at all times. Wirfs can handle speed around the edge and anchors against power at an extremely high level. Basically, this guy can do it all on the offensive line.

While he has primarily played right tackle at Iowa, Wirfs showed the ability to play on the left side earlier this season. Iowa left tackle Alaric Jackson went down with a knee injury in the Hawkeyes’ first game. Wirfs was then asked to play some left tackle and he was as dominant on that side as he is on the right.

Selecting Wirfs would give the Miami Dolphins an elite offensive line prospect to build around. Whether they stick him on the left or right, Wirfs would be a tremendous asset for this team.
