2020 NFL Draft: Top three prospects separating from the pack
The top-tier 2020 NFL draft prospects are starting to separate themselves from the pack.
The 2020 NFL Draft is still many months away, but we are starting to see players separate themselves into tiers. Obviously, we have a long way to go before the draft rolls around and many things will change between now and then. That being said, I think we are starting to see a top-tier of 2020 NFL Draft prospects separate themselves from the pack.
Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa and Ohio State edge rusher Chase Young have been two of the premier prospects in this draft class for some time now. Recently, LSU quarterback Joe Burrow has also put himself in that conversation. Burrow has been absolutely incredible this season and needs to be considered among the best players in the 2020 NFL draft class.
On the year, Burrow has completed an incredible 79.4 percent of his passes for 2,484 yards, 28 touchdowns and only three interceptions. He is an extremely smart and accurate passer who places the ball well and has enough arm talent to make an impact at the next level. Burrow is also great in the pocket, showing a fantastic ability to react to and get away from pressure while keeping his eyes downfield.
Tagovailoa joins Burrow as the other premier quarterback prospect in this class. Tua has all of the tools to be an absolute superstar at the next level and has had an incredible career at Alabama.

Many will question Tagovailoa because he has played with so much elite talent in college. However, that is just crazy talk. Tua is far too talented and accurate of a quarterback to not have success at the next level. He is an incredible football player who has a limitless ceiling in the NFL. His high ankle sprain suffered over the weekend does raise some concerns, but Tagovailoa should be fully healthy and ready to go once draft preparations start.
The final player in that top-tier is Young, the edge rusher out of Ohio State. Young is an absolute freak on the edge who shows a ridiculous combination of size, speed and power at the position. Young explodes off of the ball quickly and can beat the offensive lineman however he wants.
If Young wants to dominate with a straight bull rush, he can. If he would rather explode around the edge, bend the corner and close quickly on the quarterback in the pocket, he can. Simply put, this guy is an absolute stud who can dominate as a pass rusher and against the run.
Other 2020 NFL draft prospects like Jerry Jeudy, CeeDee Lamb, A.J. Epenesa, Andrew Thomas and Jeffrey Okudah can still get in this top three conversation. That being said, based on their talents and positional value, I see Burrow, Tagovailoa and Young separating themselves from the other premier prospects in this draft class. Do not be surprised if these three end up being the top three picks in the 2020 NFL Draft next April.
