Pick Analysis. FSU. player. 804. Scouting Report. S. Hamsah Nasirildeen. 2

As of Week 7, the Giants’ defense ranks 31st (AVG 285.0) in passing yards allowed and 20th in touchdowns allowed through the air. You could blame a couple of their losses this season on the secondary and they simply must address their defensive back issues in the 2020 NFL Draft.

Does it matter how much your offense is steadily improving when the defense is swiftly declining? Defensive coordinator James Bettcher is already in the hot seat and might not even be around after this season.

Hamsah Nasirildeen has had put up some stellar numbers his sophomore season at FSU, forcing his way into the public eye of the football world. The man hits hard, forcing 3 fumbles in just six games so far this season for the Seminoles. He is presently sitting at No. 36 in The Draft Network’s Prospect Rankings.

The FSU safety is arguably one of the best in the draft. He possesses fluid movement and can cover a lot of space in zone coverage. Plays the ball rather than the receiver, forcing incompletions. On the negative side, he tends to miss tackles and misplay the jump ball.

Nasirldeen’s size makes him a fit in the New York Giants’ defensive scheme of hybrid safeties-  same way current safety Jabrill Peppers plays. It doesn’t matter if he has a natural position, it’s if he’s natural at the position. Which he certainly looks to be.

The defense is looking worse than the offense, and Antoine Bethea is showing signs of age. It is undoubtedly time for a new replacement and secondary leader in Nasirildeen.
