Eli Manning, New York Giants

A quarterback with even more playoff experience, Eli Manning may not be the youngest or most talented quarterback on the market, but he certainly has the experience to help a team like the Kansas City Chiefs succeed.

Eli was resoundingly backed as the starting quarterback for the New York Giants all offseason by head coach Pat Shurmur. But the Giants coach quickly changed his tune after an 0-2 start and opted for rookie first-round pick Daniel Jones.

While Eli did sound disappointed with the decision, he seems to have accepted it and his new role with the Giants that came along with it. He is now doing what he can to help the team succeed with Jones at the helm, and staying prepared should they need to revert back to him at any point for whatever reason.

Eli has a no-trade clause in his contract, and his family resides close to MetLife Stadium, so a move to Kansas City may be unlikely for the 16-year veteran. But if he feels like he has a shot at another Super Bowl ring, why not give it a whirl?

Let’s just say he is open to it. Why should the Chiefs even make such a move? I say because of the word I mentioned earlier. Experience. No one out there has more valuable experience than Eli Manning. He has won two Super Bowls and is 8-4 in his 12 career playoff games.

Eli would be more of the “game manager” type of quarterback in this situation. His experience would allow him to read defenses and make adjustments pre-snap to put the offense in a position to succeed. He doesn’t have the best arm talent at this point in his career, but at the helm of a talented team like the Kansas City Chiefs, he should be able to settle in and be confident enough in his playmakers to not force anything.

Being on the Giants with limited weapons probably didn’t help Eli’s cause. I think that led him to make some questionable decisions and trying to force throws because he was trying to make something happen out of nothing. If Tyreek Hill is running free down the field because of his speed and the play design, Eli is capable of hitting him. The Kansas City Chiefs would be a great offense for Eli to make one last run with before calling it a career.
