Chicago Bears

Quarterback: Mitchell Trubisky

Running Back: Tarik Cohen, David Montgomery

Receiving: Taylor Gabriel, Allen Robinson

The bane of a Bears fan existence this season, Mitchell Trubisky. With an overall lackluster 2019 campaign to this point, the former Carolina signal-caller may need a change of scenery to bring about success. With one of the best defenses in football that has a proven track record (looking at you New England), this collection of talent can not go to waste before it is disassembled by the massive contracts to come for many of its players. Newton is a proven veteran who could unlock what potential there is in this Bears offense.

Taylor Gabriel has been a solid receiver for Trubisky since breaking out in Atlanta and is surrounded by a collection of other mid-level receivers. These are the exact receivers whos play is elevated by superior quarterback play, and Newton is the guy to do that. Again, one of the keys to producing with Newton is controlling his tendency to look for the big play and encourage him to stay safe with primary reads underneath.

Tarik Cohen and David Montgomery are also two backs who can be a serious contributor for Newton in a new-age Chicago offense. Tarik Cohen is arguably one of the best scat-backs in football with his receiving ability and quickness, and Montgomery would finally get a serious chance to showcase his rushing ability alongside Newton. A classic grind-it-out offense would play very well with this Chicago defense, looking for low scoring games in a physical affair, in which Newton would thrive assuming he is healthy.

If Newton were to be brought into Chicago, Trubisky would be a valuable trade chip for quarterback-desperate teams that are looking for a quarterback with upside. If a legitimate receiving piece, draft assets, and/or defensive depth could be acquired in exchange, that would be a best-case scenario for Chicago.
