Jacksonville Jaguars 7-round 2020 NFL mock draft after Ramsey trade
Round 6, Pick 187: Jeff Thomas, WR, Miami
The Jaguars will likely get out of the Marqise Lee contract after the season and Keelan Cole will be an unrestricted free agent at seasons end. I don’t expect either back, so I would count on the team adding multiple receivers in the draft.
Miami’s Jeff Thomas would be an intriguing option to take late in the sixth. He was once thought of as one of the better young receivers in college football before injuries and terrible quarterback play limited his production and now he would need to really turn it on and impress at the combine to get that hype back.
In this scenario, his value remains the same and he falls into Jacksonville’s lap with the 187th pick of this Jaguars 2020 mock draft.
Thomas has a lot of likable traits as a slot receiver at the next level, as he is very sudden off the line of scrimmage and when breaking of routs. He also has great hands, on rare opportunities that he gets to show them, and can come down with the occasional “wow” play.
This is your classic low-risk, high-reward late-round picks that the Jags should absolutely pull the trigger on if he’s available late.
