Arizona Cardinals 7-round 2020 NFL mock draft: Building around Kyler Murray
in this mock draft, the Cardinals were able to find some talented players at important positions of need early, but really attacked their one major need (offensive line) in the middle rounds. That continues here with their fifth-round selection, as they bring in Michigan offensive guard Ben Bredeson.
Bredeson is quick off of the snap who shows great competitive toughness at all times. Bredeson will fire off of the ball and look to embarrass the defender lined up across from him. He is an extremely hard-working player who has a solid combination of quickness and natural power on the inside. Similar to Jackson and Lemieux, Bredeson is also an extremely experienced player who could come in and compete for a starting spot right away.
Lavert Hill is an extremely quick and instinctive cornerback prospect who could thrive in man coverage at the next level. However, he is an extremely undersized player who could consistently get out-muscled for the ball as well. Lack of functional strength is an obvious concern here, but Hill is a talented player who can compete in coverage. If used correctly, Hill could be a valuable player for the Cardinals on the defensive side of the ball.
This final pick is strictly a team taking a shot on some upside. Arizona State edge defender Tyler Johnson is an extremely raw and underdeveloped player who has not produced much at the college level. That being said, he has an absolutely shredded physique and obvious power at the point of attack. Johnson also shows some quickness and flashes obvious athleticism on the edge at times.
He is an extremely underdeveloped player who basically has no idea how to rush the passer or use his hands at the moment, but there is undoubtedly some upside there. Late in the seventh round of this mock draft, the Cardinals take a chance that they can mold this lump of clay into a productive player.
