The Washington Redskins are a dumpster fire of an organization right now, and at 0-5, should be looking forward to the 2020 NFL Draft.

After a loss to the New England Patriots brought their record to 0-5, the Washington Redskins took action, firing head coach Jay Gruden. There was reported turmoil between Gruden and the front office, specifically regarding rookie quarterback Dwayne Haskins. Haskins seemed to be the choice at quarterback for ownership and Gruden didn’t agree.

The Redskins really haven’t done much this decade other than a playoff appearance back in 2015, and it seems like ownership is holding this franchise back. Their 2019 draft was well-liked among most analysts, getting Haskins and edge rusher Montez Sweat in the first round while also adding receivers Terry McLaurin and Kelvin Harmon later in the draft.

Now that there is an interim head coach situation, the Redskins need to see what they have in Haskins at some point this season. The offensive line is struggling, but they need to prepare for the future.

Speaking of the offensive line, the Redskins have to budge, give up the idea of tackle Trent Williams staying, and move him for a draft pick. It seems unlikely he will suit up for them again, so they need to add another draft pick to the mix in April to build around Haskins.

There are great pieces on this football team, especially on the front seven. This team really isn’t far off from being a playoff contender, but they need to straighten some positions out in next April’s draft to get there. Let’s get into this mock draft to see who the Washington Redskins might select.
