Round 2, No. 38 Overall: Shaun Wade, CB, Ohio State

We talked briefly about how the Atlanta Falcons have been getting toasted throughout the secondary, so adding help there is important. Desmond Trufant and Isaiah Oliver aren’t a bad duo, but Oliver lacks some quickness.

The corner class could potentially be very deep if a lot of underclassmen declare, which means there will be plenty of options for Atlanta here in round two. One of the better corners who has yet to get a lot of recognition is Ohio State’s, Shaun Wade.

While Jeffrey Okudah gets most of the attention, Wade can be a very good slot corner at the next level because of his exceptional quickness and movement skills. In a league where three receivers are the norm, having three good is essential.

Round 3, No. 70 Overall: Rashard Lawrence, DL, LSU

Adding Epenesa helps out the edge, but we aren’t done fixing the defensive line. Grady Jarrett can’t do it alone in the middle of the defense, so getting someone like Rashard Lawrence who can come in and play right away is important.

Lawrence is a big-bodied defensive lineman who can come in and immediately help the run defense. His brute strength often draws multiple linemen, and he is difficult to move out of the way. Lawrence also has potential as a pass rusher, showing some moves to disengage from blockers to get to the quarterback. If he keeps developing as a rusher, he could be a steal in round three.
