Pick Analysis. EDGE. Iowa. A.J. Epenesa. Scouting Report. 1. player. 878

Tampa Bay holds the 13th overall pick in this mock draft and their ideal player lands right in their laps. A.J. Epenesa is one of the best defensive players in the entire 2020 NFL draft class and the Buccaneers have an obvious need at the edge rusher position.

Epenesa is an incredibly strong defensive lineman who can absolutely dominate with power at the point of attack. His ridiculous natural strength gives him obvious upside at the next level, but do not sleep on his athleticism and quickness up front. Epenesa gets off of the ball quickly and shows impressive upfield burst against the run and as a pass rusher.

Epenesa has more than enough quickness and athleticism to create pressure on the outside. He bends around the edge with ease and closes on the quarterback quickly. He is also an extremely impressive run defender from the defensive end position who sets the edge extremely well and can make plays as a one-gap penetrator.

Simply put, Epenesa has an impressive combination of size, power and athleticism that makes him an extremely dangerous player at the next level. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have needed a legitimate edge rusher to build around for many years and they finally get one in this 2020 NFL draft scenario.
