OT. Georgia. Andrew Thomas. 1. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. player. 814

Earlier this season, the Miami Dolphins traded defensive back Minkah Fitzpatrick to the Pittsburgh Steelers in exchange for their first-round pick. Fitzpatrick is a great football player, but this was a savvy move by the Dolphins, considering Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger will miss the rest of the season. Now, the Steelers are 1-4 and are also without backup quarterback Mason Rudolph. This could end up being an extremely high pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.

In this mock draft, the Steelers pick ends up at fifth overall, leading to the Dolphins being able to address their offensive line. Andrew Thomas is the best offensive lineman in this class and would undoubtedly be a great addition to the Dolphins up front.

Thomas is a big and powerful offensive tackle who dominates at the point of attack. He gets off of the ball quickly and moves extremely well for a man of his size. Thomas is a devastating run blocker who gets in position to block well and completely overwhelms most defenders once engaged. He is a mean and nasty player who is always looking to make defenders look bad.

Thomas also shows great upside and ability in pass protection. His quick feet allow him to mirror opposing edge rushers extremely well and he also shows fantastic hand usage when protecting the passer. His punch is accurate, powerful and on time.

Simply put, Thomas is a ready-made NFL left tackle who could grow into one of the premier players at the position going forward. Whether they move forward with Josh Rosen as their franchise quarterback or find their guy later, having Thomas around will drastically help the development of their franchise signal-caller.
