Key Florida Players To Watch

DEs Jonathan Greenard, Jabari Zuniga – Between the two are seven of the team’s 24 total sacks along with 9.5 tackles for loss. The pairing of both Zuniga and Greenard has been quite good this season for an athletic Gators defense that has playmakers at every single level. Zuniga himself is returning from injury after missing a couple of games with a sprained ankle. Which goes to show how effective this duo can be when healthy and on the field at the same time.

QB Kyle Trask – Now the test truly begins for the junior quarterback who will be playing in just his eighth game in three seasons as a Gators quarterback. Trask stepped in for Florida after the original starter, Feleipe Franks, dislocated his ankle in the third game of the season.

So far, so good for Trask as the now entrenched starter. But looking good against Tennessee and Towson in back-to-back weeks is a different litmus test than the one he will receive against the 26th ranked defense in the country in Auburn.

LB David Reese – Being surrounded by All-SEC talent on the defensive line and in the secondary can easily take the spotlight off Reese. But throw on a Florida game and it’s easy to see why Reese is the straw that stirs the drink for the Gators defense. Reese leads the team in tackles this season and was second on the team in tackles last season. His ability to be a force in run defense will have to loom large against Auburn’s run-oriented offensive scheme.
