A matchup of two top-10 SEC teams with College Football Playoff potential possibly hanging in the balance. Here is the preview for this weekend’s matchup of Auburn vs. Florida

First and foremost, it is a rivalry. Maybe not to the magnitude in the SEC as Alabama-LSU or Florida-Georgia, but it is a rivalry nonetheless. From 1927 to 2002, the Auburn and Florida football programs got together on the football field to settle some differences.

The two programs have not met since 2011 but as they enter the latest edition to this chaptered rivalry, both programs carry with themselves a pair of undefeated records and eyes towards having a seat at the table in the SEC Championship game.

Auburn has won four of the last five games played and lead the overall series between the two programs at 43-38-2. The last time the two teams met in Gainesville, then Auburn kicker Wes Byrum knocked in a 45-yard game-winning field goal as time expired and famously ran the field mocking the home Gator crowd with their recognizable Gator chomps.

A pair of young quarterbacks are on display in this contest and both teams are equipped with talented, veteran defenses that are well-known and well-respected. Also on the menu are two head coaches known for their offensive wizardry. This contest is sure to be a dazzling display of top SEC talent with the winner taking one considerable step forward towards their trek to the SEC Championship.
