Buffalo Bills vs. Tennessee Titans NFL Week 5: Top rookies to watch
A.J. Brown, WR, Titans
A.J. Brown was a second-round pick in this year’s NFL draft, and had a breakout game last week against the Atlanta Falcons, catching three passes for 94 yards and two touchdowns. On the year, he has 10 receptions for 223 yards and two touchdowns.

Look for Brown to get the ball more often moving forward as I expect him to move up the depth chart over the next couple of weeks. I do expect the Titans to try and use Brown more frequently in the red zone to help Mariota in the passing game. I believe he will have a solid game against the Bills, catching a couple passes for first downs but held off the scoreboard in this tightly-contested defensive game.
Nate Davis, OG, Titans
Nate Davis was a third-round pick for the Titans this season and has not seen the playing field much this year. He got his first playing action last week against Atlanta playing 40 offensive snaps (62% of the games offensive snaps) and should expect him to get a bigger role moving forward.
He may fill the shoes of Rodger Saffold at the left guard spot if Saffold’s keeps underperforming, leading to the rookie guard to get more snaps moving forward. The game against the Bills which will be won based on offensive and defensive line play may call upon the rookie guard to play a majority of the offensive snaps in this game.
Davis should play about 60-70% of the snaps in this game against the Bills and if he performs well facing a tough defensive line in front of him like I believe he will you should see Davis move up the depth chart pretty quickly.
Isaiah Mack, DT/DE, Titans
Isaiah Mack is an undrafted rookie who has stepped in and played exceptionally well to begin the 2019 season. Mack has gotten to see the field more with first-round draft pick Jeffery Simmons inactive the first four games of the year due to a knee injury.
Mack has four tackles and 1.5 sacks to start the season, playing the left defensive end spot. He’s currently backing up Brent Urban in the Titans base 4-3 defense and should see more playing time moving forward if he keeps playing solid football.
I think Mack will be a factor in the game against the Bills as he will be one-on-one against rookie right tackle Cody Ford. I will look for Mack to put pressure on the Bills quarterback and pick up another sack in this game.
The Titans versus the Bills should have plenty of attention this week with both teams needing a victory to keep pace in their respective division. The rookies on both teams will make an impact on this important NFL Week 5 matchup.
