7. Miami Dolphins: Chase Young, DE, Ohio State

I know you’re currently thinking that there is no way Chase Young would fall to the seventh pick in the draft and yes, I agree with you, but here, in this 2020 NFL mock draft, that is how things shake out.

The Ohio State defensive end seems to be the consensus number one player on just about every big board and is as NFL ready as anybody in this class.

Young has an imposing frame that he pairs with a high football IQ and elite athleticism that all show up on film. These traits make for one attractive draft prospect and the Dolphins are in desperate need of talent on defense.

They traded away one of their top young players in Minkah Fitzpatrick and their best pass rusher at the moment is Taco Charlton, who they received off waivers after his release from Dallas back in mid-September.

Through four games, the defense has totaled just 5 sacks, which is tied for second to last in the NFL to this point.

The Miami Dolphins got the face of their offense in Tua Tagovailoa with the first pick and now they land the new face of their defense with Young. This would be the ideal scenario to begin the rebuild.
