3. Washington Redskins: Andrew Thomas, OT, Georgia

The Washington Redskins spent their first-round pick in 2019 on who they hope is their new franchise quarterback, Dwayne Haskins. If he is going to take the necessary steps in his development going forward, he needs to be protected, so Andrew Thomas is the easy pick here.

With standout left tackle Trent Williams unlikely to remain with the team after his current contract holdout the team signed veteran Donald Penn to a one year deal after the fallout with standout left tackle, Trent Williams, but he was just a band-aid to

Thomas is considered the best tackle prospect in the 2020 NFL draft and would be an immediate plug and play prospect that would hopefully give their young quarterback his blind side protection for the next 10 years.

Thomas has started every game he’s been a part of with the Bulldogs and was voted AP second-team All-American last season.

Thomas would be a huge upgrade for the Washington Redskins and could be the key to reaching the next step of their offensive reconstruction. He is an easy choice for the Redskins top pick in this 2020 NFL mock draft.
