1. Miami Dolphins: Tua Tagovailoa, QB, Alabama

The worst kept secret in all of sports right now is that the Miami Dolphins are doing everything they can to land Tua Tagovailoa in the 2020 NFL draft.

They have done just about everything in their power to gear up to land the Alabama quarterback with the top pick next April, and whether you think that’s the right move or not, it seems inevitable if you’ve watched them play this season.

So in this 2020 NFL mock draft, they do exactly that and take him with the first overall pick.

Tua Tagovailoa has been as advertised in the follow-up to his phenomenal 2018 season. Thus far in 2019, Tua has thrown 23 touchdowns with no interceptions and he’s completing over 76% of his passes. These numbers leave him on pace to finish the regular season with an astonishing 55 TD passes and over 4,000 yards passing on his way to another Heisman trophy campaign.

Tua checks nearly all the boxes you want in a potential franchise-changing quarterback. He’s as accurate as anybody in the country, he can make all the deep throws, he can get outside the pocket, and most importantly he’s smart with the football.

The Dolphins have little by way of talent at the moment, and while Josh Rosen has played admirably for a young quarterback receiving no help, he seems to be the sacrificial lamb for the Tua Tagovailoa era to begin in Miami.
