2020 NFL Mock Draft: Four teams land their QB of the future
13. Oakland Raiders: Isaiah Simmons, LB, Clemson
The Raiders signed middle linebacker Vontaze Burfict to a one year deal this offseason, but he was recently suspended for the remainder of the 2019 NFL season due to repeated unnecessary roughness violations. This likely means his time in Oakland is done.
The team’s other two linebacker spots are filled by Tahir Whitehead and Nicholas Morrow, who aren’t necessarily bad players, but they don’t do anything more than play hard.
The Raiders could use a spark on that unit, so in this 2020 NFL mock draft, they upgrade the unit with Clemson linebacker, Isaiah Simmons.
Simmons is a hybrid if there ever was one, as he could play just about anywhere on the defense. He has the sideline-to-sideline athleticism that is necessary for today’s game and would give the Raiders an immediate upgrade.
14. Philadelphia Eagles: Bryce Hall, CB, Virginia
The Philadelphia Eagles have had a disaster of a year in their secondary. Not only have they allowed a league-leading 324 yards per game against the pass, but they have had several injuries that have kept out players they would like to be gaining more experience.
With this being the case, the Eagles will look to add more talent to the corner position by taking Bryce Hall out of Virginia with the 14th overall pick in this 2020 NFL mock draft.
Hall is a big, experienced corner that is always around the football. His 21 pass deflections in 2018 were the most in the country and they led to him being on the Thorpe Award watch list to star his senior campaign.
Thus far, he has delivered on the hype, as he has been shut down for the Cavaliers in 2019.
