New York Giants 2020 mock draft: Surrounding Daniel Jones
Draft Recap (four rounds)
This draft class gives the Giants a couple of new playmakers to surround Daniel Jones with, but perhaps most importantly, puts additional pieces in place defensively to help get Jones the ball back at a much higher rate.
Delpit is a monster on the back end who could be one of the top up-and-coming defensive backs in all of college football, a true game-changer both in the run game and pass game, and Tylan Wallace is a dynamic receiver who could be the perfect outside complement to the group the Giants currently have in place.
Trevon Hill and Markus Bailey are both flyers in a way, but where Hill has tremendous speed and upside athletically as a pass rusher, Bailey is a proven commodity as an off-ball linebacker who can track the ball and make plays everywhere, provided he can stay healthy.
Akers is an elusive back with size and pass catching ability who can help keep Saquon Barkley fresh.
These mocks will adapt over the course of the season, but this is one way the Giants could look — even just positionally — to try to surround Daniel Jones with as much talent as possible going forward, especially now as they trend towards picking at or beyond the 10th overall pick.
